'Love Knows Any Distance'. I made these for a friend who has family in Brazil. Made them with simple plain white mugs and a BIC sharpie. I free-handed the artwork (have an extra mug on hand, you may need it!)
Mason Jar Candy Jar
I needed something to hold all of that yummy Christmas candy! I took a small clear candle stick holder and painted it red. I used the same red to paint the top of the mason jar. I also got some wooden ball knobs from Michael's and painted that and used it as part o the lid. Used my trusty hot-glue-gun and put all the pieces together, voila!
Refurbished Chair
Picture Hooks
I am new to the whole being on camera thing, please excuse my dorkiness! Now lets get crafin'!
Chalkboard Glasses
Chalkboard Margarita glasses I made, SO easy! All you need to do is go to a craft store and get chalkboard paint (I used Martha Stewart brand) and paint a few layers on the bottom of glasses! Use colored chalk as well to add some personal flare. Cheers Y'all!
Glitter Bottle
These are perfect for 21st birthday gifts! All you need to do is take the labels off a wine cooler or wine bottle and paint MANY layers of Martha Stewart's glitter paint on the outside (or whatever brand you wish). Then you can decorate the glittered bottle with whatever ribbons or pendants you wish! I made this bow with simple ribbon and gem both from Wal-Mart.
DIY Grinch Ornament
Da, da, da, DA GRINCH! My favorite ornament on the tree this year, by far! You can find packs of clear ball ornaments at Michael's (I got the 4-pack), then just pour in a mixture of glitter and Pledge Floor Finish inside. You will have to roll the glitter around and repeat a few times. Then I painted the face on the outside and added some feather garland on top (also found at Michael's).
Wrapped Letter Canvases
These are really cheap and easy decorations! I got the canvases in a 4-pack from Walmart, used wrapping paper to wrap them, then painted some wooden letters from Michael's...added a little glue...and Voila!
Flower Ball Pedestal
This is time consuming but really easy and it turns out BEAUTIFUL! All you need is a floral foam ball, a candle stick (for the pedestal), a paper cutter in the shape of a flower, push pins, and colored paper. You will also need a glue gun to attach the ball to the pedestal.
Steps: 1. Punch out all the flower shapes using colored paper and the paper cutter 2. Layer two different colored flowers, then push the pin through the middle into the floral ball (push it a little deeper so you get a curved flower look) 3. Do this around the entire ball 4. Glue the ball to the pedestal 5. Add a bow if you'd like and you're done!
Lyrics Plates
Country (or any lyrics) Plates! SO easy. All you need are sharpies, a plate, and an oven. Write your lyrics on the plate and place them in a 150 degree oven for 30 min to make it permanent :)
Zebra Decor
I got all of these supplies at Michael's craft store! Go into the section with all of the wood products that are made for painting. Then all you need is a black paint marker for the zebra design, white paint, and pink paint. Once dry you can add whatever you want, flowers, gems, you name it!
Smooth-as-Glass Painted Vase
I can't believe I took so long to paint my vases this way! All you need to do it paint the INSIDE of the vase. After a few layers your vase will look super smooth and store bought!
Martini Candles
This is one of my favorite 21st birthday gifts I have made! All you need to do is go to a craft store and get melting candle wax, color dye wax, an oil scent, a wick, and a martini glass. I also used Martha Stewart paint to paint the glasses. The first step is to follow the directions on the wax until it is melted at the right consistency. Then you stir in the colored wax and your scent. Make sure to use a hot glue gun to glue your wick to the bottom of the martini glass cup then pour the wax in the cup of the glass around the wick. I used crumbled up wax glued on the rim to look like drinking salts and cut part of a green candle to look like a yummy fruit garnish!
